FOWL-PLAY

A VR/PC co-operative puzzle game.

"Welcome to Aviary Laboratories, where cutting edge avian research is performed, from aerodynamics to avian intelligence, lessening the biological difference between birds and their dinosaur ancestors, and more!" This is a two-player cooperative game between a VR player and a desktop player. The players will need to help each other through the game using clues to solve puzzles and their unique perspectives to navigate the environment.

The game was developed by a team of four, where I had the role of the design lead, including character design, worldbuilding, level layout and puzzle creation, as well as the 2D artist, which included creating logos, in game posters, and other graphic elements. Furthermore, I was in charge of the marketing of the game, producing advertising posters, stickers, and a trailer.

ASTRAL

A 3D platforming puzzle game with extra dimension.

A young child is awoken by a bright light at their window. A magnificent avian form soars by, followed by a shimmering trail of stars. The bird drops an unknown glowing object into the alleyway beyond the child's window. Filled with curiosity, the child climbs through the window to start their adventure... Solve 3D platforming puzzles using the power of a mysterious orb, which has the ability to change the environment around it to a dreamlike alternate dimension.

This game was created by a team of three, where I had the role of concept artist, puzzle designer, level layout coordinator and one of two 2D artists. I also organised and ran alpha testing of our main mechanic with a demo puzzle track to ensure that the mechanic was intuitive and the puzzles were increasingly difficult but not frustrating.

AMBIVALENCE

Sometimes things are black and white.

A puzzle platformer where two halves of one whole puzzle are only visible in certain light. Switch between the two realities to navigate the maze and solve challenges. This mind-bending adventure increases in difficulty gradually and adds new concepts as the player moves along.

Born from my original concept, this game was created by a team of four, where I was the puzzle designer, implementer of level progression, and programmer of the block carrying mechanic.
